Point Roberts Fire Dept 24 hour Row-athon
Donation protected
In honour of service men and women (both military and first responder) our Fire Department is hosting a 24 hour Row-athon.
Our members will be rowing two rowing machines non stop for 24 hours beginning midnight of the 11th until midnight of the 12th to raise money for service men and women suffering with PTSD. Stopping only once for two minutes silence at 11:11.
We will also have additional rowers for members of the public to come and row in solidarity with those service members who struggle with mental health issues.
The event will be held on Veterans/Remembrance day (November 11th) along with a memorial service at the Point Roberts Fire hall in Whatcom County, WA.
The goal of our campaign is to raise between 10-15 thousand dollars which we intend to split evenly between two charities that work closely with those suffering from PTSD and other service related injuries.
The two selected charities are Honour House Society, and Wounded Warrior Project USA.
I know on an organisational level it would be groundbreaking and an absolute honour for our Department be able to support these organisations. However as a former soldier and a fire fighter I can say on a personal level it would mean the world to me to be able to support these excellent organisations.
Thank you all for your support and donations.
