Stephen Okala Jr. for Mr. 1908

My name is Stephen Okala Jr and I am competing in the Mr. 1908 Pageant hosted by the Never-ending Nu Beta Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. My platform "Eat Right, Get Right" incorporates two target areas Education Enrichment and Health Promotion. Within the Health Promotion target area my platform will focus on Stroke and Heart Disease Awareness

My platform specifically targets students between the grades of kindergarten through fifth grade. The goal is to educate them about living healthier lifestyles. Right now heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women. There are many causes of heart disease one being obesity. The key to fighting this disease is taking action early. With childhood obesity becoming a growing problem my platform will help to educated students and parents on exercising and putting the right kinds of foods in your system. The earlier children know about heart disease the less of a problem it will be in the future
