We’re raising funds to complete a small wet room and extension for our daughter, Ava. This isn’t a luxury project — it’s something she truly needs to make everyday life safer, more comfortable, and more independent.
Ava is eligible for a Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG), but after years of waiting with no movement, we realised we couldn’t wait any longer. We decided to start the build ourselves so she wouldn’t have to keep struggling at home.
We began with a carefully planned budget of £18,000, covering as much as possible ourselves. However, essential additions such as drainage, roofing, and accessibility fittings have pushed the cost to around £26,000, leaving us approximately £8,000 short.
We’ve managed every part of this project independently and asking for help isn’t easy for us — but this build is truly out of necessity, not choice. Every bit of support brings us one step closer to giving Ava the safe, functional space she deserves.
If you can help — whether through a donation, sharing our story, or simply spreading the word — we would be forever grateful.
Thank you for taking the time to read and support us.
