Help Surya fight a rare skin cancer
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kamlesh, and I am fundraising for my brother-in-law Suryakant Dubey who lives in Mumbai, India.
It's a dream come true for any family moving into their first house of their own. That was the celebration moment for Surya's family in Jan 2022 when they stepped into their new abode in Mumbai, India. Home loan EMI was pretty high, but Surya, like any other middle-class working individual, thought he should be able to manage with his monthly salary. But life had other plans. A tiny tumor in Surya's scalp that he thought might go away on its own was diagnosed as skin cancer.
In just six months, the tumor spread across the whole scalp and the neck area. Oncologists from multiple cancer specialty locations in India and USA agreed that this cancer is rarest of the rare type, very aggressive and advanced stage as well. Surya went through multiple radiation therapy sessions, but it was all futile, and the tumor kept growing. Due to multiple tumors around his face, he cannot eat food and only take liquid food. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, hoping it might help stop the spread.
Surya was the sole earning member of the family and had to stop working given his condition. No income comes into the family, and all savings are getting wiped out day after day paying for the treatment. His medical insurance has already reached the max limit. The dream house in which the family moved a few months back is on the verge of getting foreclosed. But that's a secondary problem for the family. The primary issue is that doctors have suggested cancer immunotherapy sessions that could cost anywhere between $7000 to $8000 per month with an estimated treatment time of 12 months.
Surya is 43 years old, true fighter and is keeping a positive attitude towards the treatments. This therapy is a ray of hope for Surya and his family to fight against this cancer. I would request all of you to help in any way possible to save Surya's life and help his family survive these difficult times. Also, please help share this info with your community to reach as many donors as possible. Your prayers and donation can go a long way.
About the Organiser:
My name is Kamlesh Pandey, and Surya is my brother-in-law (husband of my only sister). I have been to Surya's place in Mumbai and the hospitals during his treatment and have seen his situation firsthand. He has lost almost a third of his weight and cannot walk properly. He is constantly in pain but stays positive and keeps his hopes alive.
PS: Since the beneficiary does not have a US account, I will collect and transfer the donations to the beneficiary.
