Hattie Crass, my BFF of 26 years, truly is one of the best people I know. She’s the kind of friend who would give you the shirt off her back without a second thought. She’s kind, selfless, and always thinking of others — even when she’s struggling herself. No matter what life throws her way, she faces it with strength, grace, and a quiet determination that inspires everyone around her — now she’s the one who needs help.

Hattie has faced serious health challenges over the past decade, spending six of those years unable to work. She’s finally back on her feet, working from home, but finances are still extremely tight as she continues to catch up on years of medical and household bills.

Her roof has been in terrible shape for a long time and desperately needed to be replaced. A friend of a friend generously offered to do the work for free—asking only for the cost of materials. Hattie used her savings to buy everything needed to get the job done.

Unfortunately, after the old roof was stripped down to the wood, the roofer had an emergency and is unable to finish the work. Right now, her home is only covered by tarps, which is a very temporary fix that won't last long.

We’ve found another crew ready to step in and complete the job, but they need to be paid—and Hattie simply doesn’t have the funds.
