Please help my friend and son keep their home

My name is Daria and I live in London with my partner and my assistance dog, Archie.
I want to get some help for my friend Melissa and her son, they live in Costa Rica and are extremely close to me, even after moving to the UK 2 years ago.

My friend is a single mother who was affected (as many others have), by the pandemic shut downs, lost her job and hasn't been able to find one since March.
She has been able to support her and her son with some savings she had, but that money is gone and she owes 3 months of rent.
Mela is an incredible friend, woman and mother, and has been taking care of her mental health in such a responsible and determined way, it's admirable. Her son has his own therapies himself and this also requires additional money. She has achieved so much in her life and all by herself, no one deserves to be in this situation.
Unfortunately, there are no legal measures put in place in Costa Rica (where they live) to protect people who owe rent money, which is why I am being forced to open this fundraiser for her. I wish I could do more for her, and if I had the funds I would; like I'm sure anyone with a close friend in this kind of situation would do.
The money will go straight into paying her rent due, so she can stay in her home. She has no immediate family, and her friends are the only family she has. We have done all we can to support her, but these amounts are unfortunately out of our reach in such a short time frame.
We have until the end of July to make some kind of instalment so she can keep her home with her son.

Any amount helps, let's help each other during these difficult times, and please stay safe. Much love.

Below is the translation of the photo, which she posted in her social media.

"It's real, what we are facing for months now is real. It's not just an issue of public health, it's an economic crash for everyone. I've seen family businesses close, I've seen people I love having to start from scratch and I am no longer an exception. After months looking for a job without any success, this is as far as my savings go.

These are the last days in what was my home for years, the home that saw my son grow, the home that gave us security, hope, happiness and peace. I can't begin to explain what my heart is feeling, all I can say is that it's broken in thousands of pieces. I don't know where we will go yet or what will happen, I'm only beginning to realise this is our new reality. In the meantime I will continue doing my best to find a stable and safe job so we can get back up again.

I write this as a reminder that no one is exempt. If you have ways to help, do it. A lot of people speak from privilege and don't understand the implications of being in this situation and that is what hurts the must. The lack of empathy and solidarity marks a clear line. And to the people that have helped me, they know who they are, and I will forever be grateful for everything you've done for mi and my son."
