Will you help furnish my 1st Transitional Home for Homeless Women & Children?
January 2020, I lost my residence and Prayer Chapel in Warner Robins, GA through Religious Discrimination by my Landlord & the City and became homeless.
By the grace of GOD, I got into an apartment by May 2020. Fast forward, nine (9) months later (February 2021), GOD answered my prayer to open a transitional home for women with children.
Why with children? My then 37 year old adult son with disabilities suffered through this homeless situation as much as I did, since women shelters I'd call would not let me be with my son. My son and I ended up separating for seven (7) months - I, in Georgia; he in Florida with family.
We lived at a church for almost three (3) months (Jan-Mar) and lived at an extended stay hotel for two (2) months (Apr-May). It was so very difficult to pay my monthly storage fees, save money to rent a new place, and pay my weekly hotel fees -so we could "shelter in place" during the COVID-19 pandemic. But GOD was faithful.
Just five (5) months after moving into our new apartment, I began helping homeless individuals and families - by paying (out-of-pocket) to house them in hotels and referring them to the local organization with HUD ESG CV funding allocated to rapidly rehouse the homeless during the COVID-19 pandemic.
So where am I today? I want to eradicate homelessness. I want to bring children back to the arm of their parents. And I am starting with one (1) transitional home at a time.
Resident Guests will stay for a maximum of forty (40) days, while we diligently work at placing each individual or family into permanent housing or a supportive living environment. Food, clothing, transportation, hygiene supplies, etc. will be provided free. Those with no income will pay nothing. Those with income will be required to contribute a small percentage of their income toward the operations of the home and also establish an Individual Development Account (IDA) to deposit a small percentage of their income toward their goals (of purchasing a car, buying their 1st home, paying for education, certifications, or starting their own business). All Resident Guests will be assigned chores and tasks geared toward their individual development goals. And before exiting A Home & A Prayer, each adult Resident Guests will be connected with support services within their communnity - to ensure a smooth transition from homelessness to stability and progress.
Brothers, Sisters, for the last twenty (20) years, I have been supporting the mandate GOD has given me through Tell The World Ministries (NYC) - out of pocket and only recently began receiving some small donations from very kind and generous hearted supporters. The work requires finance. Will you please help me?
