Please Help Us During Medical Emergency

Hello, my name is Jamie and I'm making this GoFundMe because my sister, Jennifer, and I need help.

I’m not usually one to ask for help. The people who know me the most know that, if I'm reaching out for help, it has to be desperate.

Recently, my sister found out that she had an apple-sized mass on her ovary after having some severe abdominal pain and spending several hours in the ER. We’ve been waiting for the follow-up appointment, which happened on the morning of March 25.

She needs to have surgery, which will hospitalize her for 5 days and she won’t be able to work for 6 weeks. She was told her surgery is next Thursday, April 3. This is happening very quickly with very little time to prepare. Our biggest wish on the list is that the mass is not cancerous, but they can only investigate that after this surgery happens. It's incredibly urgent.

Long story short, we need financial help during this time. I only make so much, and my savings is pretty small because it’s difficult to save when you’re pretty much paycheck to paycheck. We typically split bills down the center and traditionally that’s worked well for us; however, she has other expenses (like a car payment and insurance) that I don’t contribute toward. I'd need to make like 3 times the amount of money I currently do in order to cover everything.

Because I don’t drive, I’ll also need to transport myself to and from work 5 days a week. I’ll also need to supply food and any medications/supplies my sister might need during her recovery while she’s unable to do so herself. I’m obviously still working and fully intend to keep working, so I’m only asking for additional financial support to cover what I can’t personally cover. The medical bills will also come, but really I’m just concerned right now with making sure we have a home, food, necessary supplies, etc.

If the goal is somehow exceeded, we'll put those funds toward medical bills.
