Please Help Caden Get To World Championships

Caden is 18 years old and has been competing in Olympic Weightlifting since he was 9. He has competed as a Florida Weightlifting Elite team member since he was 13. Since he began competing, he has been one of the top Youth lifters in the United States, and now, in the World. He has been National Champion 5 times, and holds a Youth National Record for both Clean and Jerk and Total, in addition to multiple State Records. He made his first USA Weightlifting international team when he was 13 years old and has been on the USA Weightlifting team for the last 5 years. In 2021 Caden traveled to Guadalajara, Mexico to compete in the Junior Pan American Championships, where he placed 5th overall in his first international competition.

 

Caden has now qualified for the 2022 IWF Junior World Championships in Heraklion, Greece, from May 2nd to May 10th. He will be competing against the best junior weightlifters in the world with hopes of becoming a world champion.

 

Unfortunately, USA Weightlifting does not fund the entire team for international weightlifting events for Junior athletes, so typically all international competitions are self-funded, unless the athlete places first at those events and becomes an official world ranked athlete. Winning these competitions could help springboard his dream of a chance to qualify for the Olympic Games.

 

So many of us have watched Caden develop over the years. He has always been that quiet kid over in the gym corner, lifting more than people twice his size. No complaints. No excuses.
