Please help Britini and her children
Beschermde donatie
I am going to keep sharing until this story gets public acknowledgment and want to do another run down of the last 6 months that the Norris-Robinson and Anderson family has endured.
On the night of December 4th, Britini, her husband and children went to meet family for her oldest son Demery's 14th birthday dinner. Before entering the restaurant, she started having alarming chest pains and had to leave both of her sons with family members while her husband rushed her to Wyandottes emergency room where she then went into full blown cardiac arrest. After an hour of CPR, she was pronounced deceased. While starting "clean up" someone noticed she had miraculously regained her heartbeat and then was rushed into emergency surgery where they had to place stents in 2 of the 3 valves that were completely blocked in her heart and then was placed on life support for 2 weeks. During this time, the doctors were telling us we needed to start planning for her end of life care. Social workers, doctors, nurses, anyone who was caring for Britini repeatedly told us she would never walk, talk, laugh, hold anyone's hand or play with her children ever again after experiencing an anoxic brain injury and even used the term "vegetable" to describe the only way she would ever be. They also let us know if we continued to keep her on a ventilator and continue with a tracheotomy that she would get reoccurring infections and more than likely keep ending up in the ICU for intensive care. She was going through dialysis, her kidneys were shutting down, and every time they would move her or check to see if she was breathing on her own; her heart would flatline.
After having a family meeting with the third specialist, I pulled her husband aside and begged him for Britini's sake to not prolong what she was enduring past 30 more days. He agreed but said to me "I feel like she just needs more time, I know it sounds crazy, but I just want to see what happens I have to remain positive."
I thank god every day that he had the mindset that he did, because Britini was in fact the miracle that defied all odds. The weeks leading up to Britini coming home were an absolute emotional rollercoaster watching her overcome so many obstacles every single day. Watching her grab my hand for the first time after being told she would/could never do so again, hearing her say her first word to me after they said she would/could never do so again, and watching her get up and push through physical therapy learning how to walk all over again so she could get home to her family were once again complete miracles.
Fast forward to April while Chris was finally starting to do odd jobs for friends and family members to earn income so they wouldn't lose their home and Britini ended up being diagnosed with congestive heart failure and learned her heart is only functioning at 30%, so he once again was unable to leave her for long periods of time because of the stress it could cause to her body that is still healing and fighting daily.
After all of this physical trauma her heart and body endured, she then had to suffer through what I'm sure felt worse than the cardiac arrest when her heart completely broke after waking up and finding her husband Chris had passed in his sleep next to her and their youngest son (CJ) the morning of May 6th. The cause of death is still unknown at this time, and she wonders why and how he saved her just for this to happen to him. There are many unknown answers to all of the questions that are running through everyone's heads. Constant wondering how or why any of these things could happen to anyone in such a short amount of time.
With these events being so tragic and unexpected, we are still going to keep sharing and reaching out for help as Britini may never be able to work again and will be devastated if she and her children lose their home where they have all of their memories with Chris.
If you've gotten this far- thank you for reading, sharing, donating, praying or sending encouraging words during these awful times.
