Please Help Alyssa’s Family

Alyssa was a fighter and a beautiful light in our lives. In the last two months of her life, she endured ten open heart surgeries due to complication after complication in repairing a valve in her heart. Her body was so frail after what she endured but was beginning to gain strength. On Saturday morning, a blood clot formed in her brain and during the operation to remove the clot, her brain hemorrhaged causing severe damage and loss of any brain function. After her long fight, Alyssa passed peacefully surrounded by the love of her entire family.

Alyssa’s parents, Alain and Wendy, were her greatest advocates. They were by her side tirelessly, taking shifts each day ensuring that Alyssa never spent a minute alone. This meant that Alyssa’s siblings had only one parent at home for over two months. Her family has endured so much and has carried her through this battle giving her hope and endless love along with so many loved ones.

Alyssa was awaiting a heart transplant and was being sustained by some of the most advanced heart-saving technology available. With the enormous hospital bills pending and funeral expenses, Alyssa’s family will be overwhelmed with the financial burden in addition to the weight of living without Alyssa’s light in their life.
