Please Help a Terrified Scam Victim from Muskoka

Donation protected
On Thursday, October 24,, Gen Suchanek was scammed out of every penny she earned in her summer job which ended just the day before. She was taken for $3,000. She is an innocent young woman with learning disabilities who was lured from Torrance, Muskoka to Barrie to a fake Western Union where her hard earned dollars were turned into bitcoin. Why didn't she call for help? The fake RCMP officer on the phone said if she called her mom she would be arrested immediately and fined over $90,000. They said she had 40 minutes to make it to Barrie to deposit her fine of $3,000 for tax fraud and that she would have to go to a bank branch in Barrie as there was no time to go to her home TD branch in Bala. They kept her on the cell, yelling at her as she drove. When she said she didn't understand their directions, they screamed at her that she should have GPS in her car and continued to direct her. They made her keep her phone in her pocket when she went into the bank so they could 'hear' that she was actually taking out the cash. They then directed her to MAPLE CONVENIENCE at 38 Dunlop Street West in Barrie, telling her it was the Western Union depot and directed her, step by step, how to follow the prompts in the INSTACOIN BITCOIN machine (owned by a Montreal company) to deposit the cash. Once the transfer was complete, they told her she needed another $4,000 so she returned to the branch to try and scrape together more money. This time a second teller saw she looked upset and asked why she kept looking at her pocket. The teller took the phone and told off the scam artists then explained to Gen that she had been robbed of her money - that she was a victim of a scam. Gen is on disability and will not get another payment until December because of her summer job earnings - which are now all gone. She has bills to pay and commitments made and the loss of $3K has wiped out her bank account. While she is embarrassed for being taken and embarrassed to ask for help, she needs it. Please consider donating to help restore what was stolen of her and to restore her confidence that there are good people in this world. The OPP are investigating but there is no way for her to recover the money she transferred. She is also now too terrified to answer her phone and hasn't slept since the crime occurred. Gen thanks you for your support and encouragement.
