I'm Amy McKee Woodruff. My brother is Matt McKee and his wife was Sarah McKee. She passed away on June, 16, 2025. .  We just had Sarah’s Memorial service this past Sunday. Thank you to everyone that was able to come and show support for Sarah, Matt and their children. I understand that everyone was not able to attend, but all your prayers, text messages and donations have been SO appreciated by Matt and the family. They were both  a longtime resident of Pickens County, AL. On Mother’s Day this year, May 11, 2025, his wife, Sarah, suffered a bronchial spasm brought on by Covid. It happened in front of their two young children, and by the time the ambulance got there, she was no longer breathing and had lost her pulse. It was extremely traumatic because their 9-year-old found her as soon as she collapsed. Their two young children saw their mother have to be shocked and loaded onto an ambulance. Matt has four boys. In order to be there by her side in the hospital, he has had to take a leave of absence from Steel Dynamics, located in Columbus, MS, where he has worked shift work for more than 10 years. Sarah was in a coma from May 11,2025 until she passed on June 16, 2025. She was taken by ambulance to Columbus, MS, then air-flighted to Jackson, MS, and then taken by ambulance back to Columbus. Matt is a well-known and respected member of Pickens County, AL. He graduated from Pickens Academy. His expenses are piling up, and he needs our help. Matt is too proud to ask, but as his sister, I’m not. He has immediate expenses and will soon have insurmountable expenses in the future.
