Placer County Sheriffs Office Search and Rescue

On October 11th, I will celebrate a milestone 75th Birthday.  At this age, there isn’t anything I need that I don’t already have; a loving family, great friends (some that go back 60+ years) and a long and very satisfying work life both for the military and for a law enforcement agency.  In that vein, I have a deep and abiding respect for our local Sheriffs Department.  Placer County is large, it stretches from South Lake Tahoe to just north of Sacramento; much of the terrain is practically inaccessible, but the PCSO manages, believe me!  The Search and Rescue Team is comprised of VOLUNTEERS, they are highly trained and dedicated and the Team responds for calls for aid to surrounding counties.  They’ve rescued people buried under an avalanche, they’ve conducted search and recovery efforts (having just returned from Butte County, not a pleasant job!)
