Otis, the Therapy Dog, needs help.

Otis the Therapy Dog needs your help.
This is my boy Otis. We have been together since he was six weeks old. He is nine now and is facing a total left hip replacement, with his right knee in danger as well. Without surgery, soon he will not be able to walk. He has faced numerous challenges over the years but this is the first time we have ever had to ask for help.
I strongly believe that the love and compassion he so freely shares with others is priceless. As a therapy dog, these are a few of the programs that Otis has worked with over the past six years:
School reading programs; Programs for the physically and emotionally challenged.
Our returning military men and women suffering from PTSD; At risk Teens in the school system.
Group and organizational programs which demonstrate the skills necessary to work as a Therapy or Service dog.
Before Otis was a year old, it was clear he had come with special talents. He has a keen sensitivity, awareness, and ability to recognize both human and animal support needs.
He works his "magic" everyday with the homeless, troubled, the young, aging, and the sick. Regardless of where we are, if Otis senses a "need" from a person or animal, he "Never" fails to plant his feet, and turn in their direction. Then, he gives me that "look" that says, "Mom, I have work to do!"
I never question, I simply follow and observe the healing compassion that he shares with others.
Three years ago, Otis became my own service dog, and has since been doing "double duty." He is my "Rock" and faithfully cares for "Mom," as well as all his "Therapy" friends. His temperament is gentle, his humor unique, and his determination fierce!
We are now faced with helping each other through a challenge we've not experienced in our time together.
Whether it is in prayers and well wishes or donations, we thank you all for your love and support and are eternally grateful. We truly appreciate any help you may offer towards Otis' surgery, medical care, and therapy.
Blessings to each and every one of you from Otis and his "Mom" Susan.
