CofC Pike Fire Truck Pull

Donation protected
Pi Kappa Alpha at the College of Charleston is hosting our second annual "Fire Truck Pull Race" to benefit both The Wounded Warrior Project and the Franklin Barker West Scholarship fund. In our first year our organization raised over $5,000.00 for the Wounded Warrior Project and are looking to build on this amount.

The event will be held on April 12th located at the heart of the Cofc's campus on George Street between Coming and Glebe.
The event consists of teams of four pulling a fire truck 15 feet in a time trialed race.  The winner recieves a $250 gift certificate to Hall's Chophouse! The teams will consist of members of CofC fraternities as well as the Police and Fire Departments of the local downtown, Mount Pleasant and North Charleston areas.Food, drink, music and a dunk tank will be provided courtesy of Pike to those watching the competition.

The Wounded Warrior Project helps thousands of wounded veterans- and their families- as they return from current conflicts. WWP provides 19 free programs and services to wounded service members and their families specifically structured to engage warriors, nurture their minds and bodies, and encourage their economic empwoerment.

The Barker West Scholarship Fund offers aid to students travelling abroad for their studies. Franklin Barker West had a special impact on whomever he came across. His hard work, charisma, and loyalty were of the highest order. His life was suddenly cut short a the tender age of just 18 in a car accident in September 2013. The loss of Barker sent shockwaves throughout the community. There was simply no replacing the caring and steadfast devotion he had to his friends and anything he set his mind towards. He will always be deeply missed around the College of Charleston campus.  The Barker West Scholarship Fund offers aid to students studying internationally because Barker had a passion for travelling abroad.

If you would like your donation to go specifically to either the Wounded Warrior Project or the Franklin Barker West Scholarship Fund please state so in the comment section.
