Phone Broken on Day 1 of Camping—Help Me Stay Connected
Spende geschützt
Hi, my name is Veronika.
I’m writing this from a tent in Colorado, from the top of the Colorado National Monument, while the sensor is still working. On Day 1 of our long-awaited dream trip to the U.S., while taking a photo from the bottom of the monument, the tripod fell and my screen got broken. The screen is a mess. It’s the only connection we have, all in one phone - maps, eSIM, and the photos.
My friend and I (both women in our 40s) traveled overseas to chase a lifelong dream: exploring the wild beauty of Colorado and Utah. We packed our backpacks, our sense of humor, and a whole lot of hope—and landed ready to take on the open road, campfires, red rocks, and starry skies.
But just hours after departing, my iPhone took a fatal tumble. Now we’re navigating everything from trails to towns with no backup, and no way to capture the incredible memories we’re making because my friend has an old phone.
We still have a week of camping ahead, and while we’re embracing the adventure fully, it would mean so much to have some help staying safe, connected, and able to share our journey with you all.
If you’re able to pitch in, even a little, we’d be incredibly grateful.
Every bit helps me work toward getting a replacement so I can keep navigating, sharing photos, and staying in touch.
As a thank-you, I’ll send digital “postcards from the wild” to anyone who donates — with updates, photos, and maybe a few mishaps from the road.
Thank you for supporting two wanderers following their hearts (and one unlucky phone).
Love,
Veronika
