Family and Friends for Phil

In 2015, my Dad, Phil, was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma, after surviving colon cancer for 20 years. On September 30, 2015, he suffered a stroke. Three days later, he endured a second stroke. My family made the decision to have him transferred to the University of Chicago. While being hospitalized there, he survived a massive heart attack. After being released from the second hospital, he was placed in acute therapy. On November 17, 2015, our family was overwhelmed with excitement because he was able to come home. On November 28,2015, just 11 days after coming home, my Dad got to walk me down the aisle at my wedding! He currently travels daily to Rehabilation Institute of Chicago, to continue to work on skills to allow him to be the best that he can be.
