Philadelphia Tavern COVID-19 Staff Relief

At the beginning of the year, we celebrated the 21 Years of The Philadelphia Tavern being a staple in Old Town Manassas. Just a few weeks ago, we had to limit our in store service to 10 people, as of yesterday we’ve been required to be close to the public (with the exception of take out and delivery) for the safety of our staff and our community and the result was laying off 20 Staff members.

 These 20 individuals - many with families, kids and parents they are supporting - whose rent, utilities, groceries and health care is now on the line, are without a reliable source of income. As we consider ourselves a Tavern family, we’ve been able to provide regular updates with additional resources as they are presented from local, state (and hopefully federal) levels. There have been days of tears, days of gratitude and days with fear, but we know we support each other and hope you will join us. 

I'm now reaching out to our neighbors and family outside of the Tavern and asking that you show the same love and support for our staff even though it won’t be from across the bar or table side (for a while!)

We have all seen which industries has been hit the hardest, limitations coming to us leaving us in situations none of us planned for. Out of our 21 years in business, only 2 of them have been supported by online ordering and 6 months have been utilizing outside delivery platforms. We aren’t set up to survive on to-go and delivery alone. We aware of the impact COVID-19 has on everyone across the globe, but I know for industry people - all around Manassas and specifically with us at Philly Tavern - our staffs livelihoods are in jeopardy with no guaranteed or foreseeable relief as the government debates on what to provide Americans facing a loss of job situation.

Whatever you can do to help - if not through direct financial contribution, then by sharing this GoFundMe campaign with anyone and everyone you know - just this alone would offer some support and relief to the Philly Tavern staff and their families that you know and love.
