Peter Maddeaux's pancreatic cancer journey
Spende geschützt
On October 11, 2022, we received the devasting news that Peter had stage IV pancreatic cancer that had spread to the liver. Peter has been determined to move forward with treatment so he can beat this dreaded disease.
We've had some setbacks. Insurance is not paying for needed pain meds that work and were switched to morphine. Peter had an adverse reaction to morphine, resulting in a hospital stay and many unnecessary complications. Nearly needed dialysis as a result of this insurance nightmare.
Along with traditional chemotherapy, we are making dietary changes and adding complementary supplements and other re-purposed pharmaceuticals under the direction of an oncologist we are consulting with out of Houston, TX. As you may have already guessed, insurance does not cover non-traditional care alternatives.
A CaringBridge site has been set up for Peter to keep everyone up to date. We've had numerous people offer support in various ways but find it challenging to manage multiple payment platforms. A family member suggested setting up a Gofundme account to simplify this process.
We are thankful for your kind words, support, and prayers. Anything you can donate will be genuinely appreciated. Everything we can do to help and surround Peter with love is most important so he can focus on beating this thing. Please spread the word. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
