Pete & Sue - We appreciate you.
Peter and Sue have been the cleaners for our DXC Hobart office for almost 3 years. They are always energetic, bright and provided all of us with a little light at the end of the day with their happy smiles, generous nature and amazing work ethic.
Over the past year, their circumstances have changed significantly with Peter getting cancer making him unable to work anymore. We have missed seeing his face and hearing his voice around the office and hoped that he would have had a speedy recovery. Unfortunately that has not been the case and he has spent a lot of time going through chemotherapy and now possibly radiation to stop the cancer.
After months of treatment, Peter's health has not improved and Sue has been taking on extra work and responsibility to cover his workload around our office. The reason why we don't see Sue around anymore in the afternoons, is because she starts at 4am in order to get everything done and works an extra 3 hours of her own time to cover Peter's duties while he is sick because she loves us here at the Hobart office. After finishing up at our office, she goes to another job and does a full days work there.
Despite Peter & Sue's tough situational circumstances, their positivity continues to radiate and I thought it would be nice for us to show them that we appreciate them and want to give back.
During tough times like this, any help is help and I'm sure they will appreciate us coming together to support them.
