Peru Expedition

Donation protected
In the summer of 2018 I have been given the opportunity to travel to Peru in South America and volunteer out there for four weeks helping the local communities. To be able to go on this life changing experience I need to fundraise just over £4000. Hopefully, with your help, as well as the various fundraising events that have been organised, I can raise this money to help give the children of Peru the help and support they deserve to change their lives. I will be facing different challenges throughout the expedition, the first project I will be facing is The School Feeding Project. The community of Kajilarakay is extremely poor with no basic sanitation or sewerage and a lack of adequate drinking water. There is also a shortage of crops leading to malnutrition. I will be helping these children by working on the school kitchen and greenhouse to provide a hygienic place to prepare meals and boosting the nutrition of each meal. Our second project is The School Improvement Project in Titicaca. The communities surrounding Lake Titcaca remain some of the poorest in Peru. The remoteness and inaccessibility of this region means that there is little or no help available from surrounding regions. To help the children we will continue to build community facilities and a classroom for the villagers as well as restoring the school greenhouse. The final project I will be facing, (however my adventure does not end here) is a School Improvment Project in Colca. The community of Pinchollo sits on the edge of the mighty Colca Canyon at 3,600 meters above sea level. Due to it's remoteness and relatively harsh conditions, the community here is also very poor. By donating you will help me help these children by continuing many varied projects to improve the lives of this charming community. At the end of my journey I will be going on a 5 day trek to Machu Picchu, an Incan citadel set high in the Andes Mountains in Peru above the Urubamba River valley, built in the 15th century and later abandoned. This is a trip of a lifetime, and an experience I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
"Every school Expedition we offer is a real and authentic cultural experience for every student who decides to travel with us. Our expeditions help to challenge their view of the world, understand the day to day challenges rural communities face, help work on projects which transform communities and help them overcome significant issues they face including access to clean water, education and housing. They also increase students self-worth and appreciate the impact just one person can have on the world"
