Penny the Pitbull has cancer and needs amputation

Hi everyone,

Penny, our rescue Pitbull who has been with us just over a year and is 3 to 4 years old is in need of a major surgery to amputate her front left leg.  Earlier this week we got the devastating news that she has an aggressive form of bone cancer called Osteosarcoma.  

My wife and I have made the decision that we are going to push forward and try and give Penny the best quality and length of life we can.  She had such a tough upbringing, she was found alone in North Carolina with bite marks all over her back.  We believe she was used as a bait dog in dog fighting at a young age.  From North Carolina she was bounced around to several shelters and had a difficult time finding a forever home because she is reactive to other dogs.  My wife & I took her in last spring and she is just the biggest love bug with humans and is so happy and settled with us.  We just love her so much and hope she can be a 1 in a million dog who beats this terrible disease.
