Madeline Grace Saville "Maddie" - Rhabdomyosarcoma - Cancer
Maddie is 9 years old and is a sister of 9. Her siblings are 4 sisters and 4 brothers. Maddie's parents are Pompano Beach Fire Rescue - Captain Donald Saville and wife Sarah Saville.
Maddie was diagnosed with Stage 3 Rhabdomyosarcoma a week after her ER visit on August 26,2021. Rhabdomyosarcoma is a rare type of cancer that affects muscle tissue,
mostly in children and adolescents. It can occur anywhere in the body, but usually
the head and neck, arms and legs, and urinary and reproductive organs. Treatments include
surgery, chemo, radiation and supportive care.
Maddie noticed she was having abdominal pains as well as circles started forming around her eyes, she also lost considerable weight. Maddie currently requires Chemotherapy every 3 weeks for the next 24 weeks.
The tumor is about 7 centimeters big - size of a soft ball in her abdomen, so until the tumor shrinks in the next 6 months during Chemo, Maddie will hold strong.
Captain Donald Saville is Maddie's father, he has honorably served the Pompano Beach Community and South Florida for almost 18 years (in 3 days actually). Captain Saville will be by Maddie's side throughout this and while our thoughts and prayers will continue to pour out toward Maddie and this beautiful family, we ask for your help.
We are asking for any donation to help toward Maddie's Chemotherapy, she will require this for 6 months in which she will be hospitalized off and on. Captain Saville and his wife Sarah will not be able to work too much due to this as well as knowing they have 8 more kids they need to continue to take care of and support. We THANK you for your thoughts, prayers and anything you can contribute to helping #MaddiesRecovery
