Hello, Family & Friends.

I am inviting you here today because I have lost my brother, Sokhom Hon - who was not only a big brother, but a young brother, an uncle, a son, and a father. As you may or may not know from the news/media, Kom was taken from us by the bullets of police officer(s). Truly, rage sits in my family's hearts from this event that we believe is unjust. 

Kom's past, surely, was not an ideal one. Like many other refugee youngins' then, he seeked for a belonging and a sense of identity which led him to personal trials and troubles that carried over until the end of his life. However, this does not make him any less of a big brother, of MY big brother, whom deserves peace.

We have replayed the videos over and over again, trying to maybe find some closure and forgiveness in our hearts. And I cannot even put forth the pain from seeing my mother's face as she watched her son ascends each time.

So, with hope, on behalf of my family and me, I invite you to help in properly paying tribute to Kom.
With great appreciation, we accept all gestures - big and small.
