In October 2017, Paul Knipper was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. This was devastating news to Paul and his family. You could ask anyone who knows him - Paul is one of the most outgoing, fun, full of life, loving, and loyal men out there. To see a man like Paul get hit with a diagnosis like this is a tough blow.
Get to know Paul
Paul is 54 years old. He and his wife Sandra live in Clifton Springs, NY. Paul is a proud father of four: two sons, Miles and Sam, and two daughters, Emily and Alexandra, who are currently in college. Paul is full of energy and life, who loves to spend time with his family, travelling, skiing, boating, among other activities. Paul is the family cook and if you get near him, you can bet he’ll try to feed you and encourage you wash it down with a little tequila! Paul is also a financial advisor, working in finance since 1989. It’s a job he loves and thrives at, being able to help his clients achieve their financial dreams.
The Heartbreaking News
This past October (in 2017), Paul was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. After many trips to Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, in conjunction with local doctors, they developed an aggressive treatment plan. This involves weeks of 50+ hour chemotherapy treatments in hopes to shrink to tumor to the point of being able to remove it.
Unfortunately, after Paul’s last CAT scan, the family discovered that his cancer has developed into a Stage IV diagnosis. What this means for Paul and his family is now full of uncertainty. There will be many more trips back and forth to New York, with multiple biopsies, tests, and requests or applications to get into clinical trials. Paul and his family are doing whatever is possible to give him to best chance to live many more years, spending time with his beloved family.
How you can help
Since the Stage IV diagnosis, the tests, the biopsies, and the expectation of getting into a clinical trial are amounting to a lot payments and a heavy financial burden. Paul is unable to work during the treatments and the travel, and with two children in college and all of the other life expenses, this is putting a significant strain on the Knipper family. As friends, family, and friends of friends, we’re asking for your help. We want to alleviate this burden as much as we can, so that Paul and his family can get him the treatments he needs, as well as to take away the stress of having to support the family. Any support you can give would be such a blessing.
