Paul, Brooke, and Baby Charlie

Hey everyone! My name is Danial, and I’ve got a story for you about my brother, his wife, and their new little girl!

Charlie Anne Adkins was born March 15, at approximately 11:43 pm, to parents Paul and Brooke Adkins.

4lbs 6oz and 15 inches long.

Right at 6 weeks before the due date of April 28th.

She is a miracle!

Brooke had cancer as a child. Upon the completion of the various treatments she underwent, her doctors told her that she would be unable to get pregnant or carry a pregnancy.

Knowing this, you can imagine how exciting it was to get the call from Paul telling me they were pregnant. He’d actually had a dream about it before she told him, and he’d dreamed they were having a girl. 

He was elated. She was excited. And he was right! The dream was confirmed. They were having a little girl. Her name would be Charlie.

That was 6 months ago. A lot has happened in that time. COVID-19 was happening to their finances, just like everyone else. Paul was working for our brother, and Brooke had just been brought back on at work. In a short time, there began to be some complications.

Due to the trauma Brooke’s body underwent as a child, she began to have pretty serious irregular bleeding that led to unexpected hospital visits and stays, which led to many back and forth trips for Paul. All of which was going on while they were in the process of buying their first home.

The hospital trips subsided long enough for them to purchase a home, but Brooke was put on bed rest, so she was not going to be working until the birth and then there would be maternity leave. Their savings got them through during the purchase of their home, and their move to North Georgia.

Being so far from where Paul’s daily work activities took place, and with needing to be home with Brooke while she was on bed rest, Paul had to step away from his job. They’ve been in their new home for approximately 3.5 weeks. During that time, Brooke had two more bleeding episodes, which had her in the hospital for half of that time. 

Then, after the 3rd bleeding episode, the doctors decided to perform an emergency c-section. 

Paul, Brooke, and Charlie need our help!

Loss of work due to complications, hospital trips, hospital stays, eating on the run, moving, unexpected moving expenses that never fail to arise, and now several hospital trips a day to VISIT their daughter while she develops until she’s allowed to come home, more doctors visits for Brooke as she heals, and the list goes on. 

Life is a storm, they’re exhausted on every level, but they’re chilling with Jesus. Now is the time for people, and the people of God, to be the physical expression of God’s provision. I invite you to take part in sowing into them, and Charlie’s life, a miracle life. A miracle story!
