Patty & Rusty Burgess

I am Rusty & Patty’s daughter, Mary. Mama has been diagnosed with Stage 4a tongue cancer. She will be having a very aggressive 6-8 hour surgery on May 17th, 2022 that will keep her at UAB in Birmingham, AL for about a week. I am so thankful for their military service and that Tricare will be covering most, if not all of the medical expenses, but all the other costs to be incurred during her fight are not. Daddy and I are staying in a hotel close to the hospital for the week of her surgery and will be “port and starboard watches” as he calls it, during her surgical recovery. The doctors have told them it will be a 7-8 month recovery process including travel to/from Gadsden & Birmingham, AL for surgery/oncology follow-ups and 6 weeks of M-F radiation treatments. I would really appreciate it if you could help them so they don’t have to worry about the financial aspect of her recovery process.
