Pattison's Holiday Meal Kits
Donation protected
Mike and Kay Pattison opened the doors to Pattison's West Skating rink on December 5th, 1979, and Pattison's West has been a landmark in Western Washington ever since. The business has provided family fun and entertainment to children, teens, and adults for over 40 years and will be closing it's doors permanently this winter. The family would like to extend their thanks to the community by handing out free holiday meal kits to those affected by the pandemic. On Sunday, December 20th, the parking lot of the Skating rink will become a drive-through distribution center for holiday meal kits, with COVID-19 safety protocols employed for volunteers of the event.
This GoFundMe is specifically to fund the food for the meal kits that will be passed out to the former patrons of this landmark business. Friends, neighbors, and fellow community members of Federal Way that seek a meal kit the day of the drive will receive one. No one seeking a meal kit will be turned away. Additional logistical and financial support required for the event are being provided by close friends and family. This fundraiser is specifically to purchase food that will be distributed to the community at the drive-through the day of the event. Any undistributed food kits will be donated to the local food bank.
The loss of small business around the world during this pandemic is tragic and the impact on the communities they serve even more so. The Pattisons are grateful for the outpouring of support from the community as they close the book on this chapter, and are humbled by the generosity of others looking to give back to their community.
