Pat Fontes DJ Marathon for ALS

When people think about ALS they automatically associate the recent ALS bucket challenge but don't understand much past it. Amyotrophic Laterals Sclerosis is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. You may have never met someone who has been infected by ALS, but most recently the electronic music scene has felt it's impact.

Pat Fontes, a local DJ and producer, was recently diagnosed with the disease. Pat has been one of the faces of our scene for over two decades, whether when he was working at, or owner of Satellite Records in Boston, or at any of the many gigs he has had througout New England. We all know and love Pat, and have been touched by his kindness / friendship and music.

Now is time for the scene to give back to someone who literally gave everything he had to us.

For the 60 hours close to 80 DJs at five different venues are going to do our best to raise money and awareness for Pat and the Massachusetts ALS Association.
