The amazing woman who taught Dylan his first 8 words in Spanish is from Venezuela. Her name is Lilybel and she and her sweet family mean the world to us. As the situation in Venezuela has steadily deteriorated, Lilybel and her family worked to become more and more frugal and creative with how to survive. Recently, they were forced to come to the realization that if they stayed in their home, they would starve. So, they courageously came to Colombia to start a new life (all the while hoping that one day they will be able to go back home).
They came to Colombia legally but they will need to have passports in order to take any more permanent steps towards beginning their life anew. Unfortunately, Venezuela charges an astronomic price right now in order to get a passport.
Brad and I have helped them with all of the travel and living costs to make their move to Colombia and we are wondering if you you might be willing to help them with their passport costs which will open up many more options for them as a family. Lilybel wants to work as a nanny again and so does her daughter Noira (24 years old), who would also love to start English classes which would give her many more options nannying and otherwise. Emily (18 years old) is an extremely talented and passionate chef. She would love to take cooking classes one day. Christian (17 years old) was just finishing high school when they left. He hopes to be able to study again.
