Passing the Hat for Robert Graham

Do you know Robert Graham?

Many of us in Montrose knew Robert as the ace cashier at our old Dunlavy Fiesta.

Some of us knew him as a neighbor in Mandell Place, where he rented a place on Hawthorne for many years and was active with MPCA.

He even made a cameo appearance in “Houston It’s Worth It” as one of the familiar faces who represent Houston.

Now Robert is at the Main St Fiesta and rents a room in the Heights.  

 For most of his life Robert has managed living with epilepsy, but seizures occasionally mean expensive trips to the emergency room—expensive even with the insurance he has as a 25 year employee of Fiesta.

One such recent seizure, coupled with a few days’ of income lost to Harvey, has depleted Robert’s resources--colliding disasters that tipped the balance.

It is a cold reality in America that a guy who takes the bus to work every day, pays for his rented room every week, and is known to so many of us could become homeless over some medical bills.
Would you like to help Robert get back on his feet?

The goal of this modest campaign is to help Robert catch up on his rent and pay down his medical bills.

 Robert is a working man who passes a gauntlet of panhandlers and deadbeats on his way to the Main St. Fiesta every day. 

He is the opposite of those guys. 

But I convinced him to let me  “pass the hat” among his many friends using this GoFundMe which will fund him directly.  

There have been so many needs after Harvey.  I bet you have contributed big bucks to big causes.
This one is a simple, small, timely, and direct way to give a hand to our neighbor Robert.
