La Ruta Olimpica. Venezuela Paris 2024

El ciclo olímpico París 2024 ya está en curso y 4 atletas de alto rendimiento en escalada deportiva tendrían la oportunidad de alcanzar sus sueños y a la vez darle esperanza a Venezuela.

The Paris 2024 Olympic cycle is already ongoing and 4 high-performance sports climbers would have the opportunity to achieve their dreams and give hope to Venezuela altogether.

Los atletas: Lianet Castillo (Lara), Gianstefano Di Nino (Guárico), Luis Castellanos (Carabobo) y Gustavo Pérez (Guárico) han clasificado en el chequeo nacional del pasado mes de marzo para representar a Venezuela en 3 copas europeas de escalada deportiva. Con más de 20 horas de entrenamiento semanal y estar en los primeros lugares del ranking nacional, cada uno de ellos personifíca la oportunidad de que Venezuela sea vista por primera vez en competiciones a nivel internacional.

The athletes: Lianet Castillo (Lara State), Gianstefano Di Nino (Guárico State), Luis Castellanos (Carabobo State) and Gustavo Pérez (Guárico State) have qualified in the nationals last March to represent Venezuela in 3 European sport climbing cups. With more than 20 hours of weekly training and being at the top of the national ranking, each one of them represent the opportunity for Venezuela to be seen for the first time in international competitions.

En este sentido, apelamos a la buena voluntad principalmente de la diáspora venezolana pues, en Venezuela se han hecho todas las gestiones posibles para cubrir los gastos que representa este periplo y, aunque hemos contado con importantes patrocinantes, no se ha logrado reunir todo el dinero necesario para culminarlo a cabalidad.

In this sense, we appeal to the goodwill -mainly of the Venezuelan diaspora- for the continuation of this dream, as we have managed to received important sponsorships but not all the money needed has been raised.

¿En Venezuela se practica escalada deportiva?

Sí, y en sus tres modalidades: BLOQUE; DIFICULTAD Y VELOCIDAD.

Aunque no es un deporte masificado como el beisbol, la natación o el fútbol, existen equipos federados en varios estados del país, como por ejemplo: Guárico, Mérida, Lara, Carabobo, Miranda y Caracas con un importante número de atletas que participan en competencias nacionales y también en torneos abiertos.

Is sport climbing practiced in Venezuela?

Yes and on all of it's modalities: BOULDER; DIFFICULTY AND SPEED.

Although it is not a massively played sport like baseball, swimming or soccer, there are federated teams in various states of the country, such as: Guárico, Mérida, Lara, Carabobo, Miranda and Caracas with a significant number of athletes participating in national competitions and open tournaments.

¿Cómo lograrán esto?

Sumando puntos en 3 competencias internacionales (Innsbruck (Austria) , Villars y Berna (Suiza) para clasificar a los Juegos Panamericanos en Santiago (2023).

Posicionarse primeros en esta competencia, (Santiago), les otorgara el cupo directo a las olimpíadas de París (2024)

How will they achieve this?

Adding points in 3 international competitions [Innsbruck (Austria), Villars and Bern (Switzerland)] will qualify them for the Pan American Games in Santiago (2023). Achieving the first slots in the Santiago competition, will grant them a direct ticket to the Paris 2024 Olympics.

¿En qué tiempo lo harán?

Desde junio hasta agosto de 2023 es la primera fase.

In what time frame will they do it?

The fist phase is from June to August 2023.

La disciplina y el esfuerzo han acercado a estos 4 atletas un sueño colectivo. Años de lucha por un objetivo los han hecho crecer como atletas y como personas.
