Hi everybody! Life has began to pick up the pace and everything I have been working towards are finally coming together, with the help of all of you. I have been accepted to Metropolitan State University-Denver and will be attending the Fall 2018 semester. I am going to be studying a major in their Construction Management Program and a minor in Nonprofit Studies. I am also still working closely with Canine Partners of the Rockies service dog company. They are a small company, so it’s a lot of 1 on 1 training time which is awesome. With them being a smaller company there is a price to pay in order to receive one, when it comes to something that will help make every single day easier, than I feel that’s a price worth paying. I have tried filling out every scholarship application I could find for financial resources, but I am again, now looking to anyone that is able to help me write the next chapter in my life. Making steps from paralysis to possible, and a barrier free life.

Hi, thank you for those of you who have been able to donate! unfortunately the scholarship I applied for to help financially, did not accept my request. .. Just because it doesn’t seem to be important to them, doesn’t mean it’s not important to me. After working with theses dogs I can see how beneficial they can be. Not only could one help me gain back my independence, and help me break down barriers I am faced with, but it would increase my overall quality of life. Especially with school coming up, having a service dog would be able to make that adjustment easier. But without the scholarship to help with the cost, I now need you all more than ever. I know it’s not always easy to donate, but I wouldn’t be asking if I didn’t fully believe that having a service dog was the best thing for me. They aren’t just another pet, they become your best friend and that bond can never be broken. They truly enjoy working/completing tasks to help make life better for you.
