Skip Taylor's Road to Recovery

On August 29th around 6 pm our Skip/Skipper/Papa suffered a major stroke. He was transported by ambulance to Flowers hospital in Dothan, Alabama where it was discovered that he had a major blockage. It was determined quickly that he would need surgery ASAP. Going to UAB by helicopter was considered but time was not on our side. A surgeon was quickly located in Dothan and he was transferred to Southeast Medical to undergo surgery immediately. Surgery went well but he had an allergic reaction to one of the medications and was then placed on the ventilator for several days. We are relieved to say that he has finally been taken off the ventilator! As of now Skip is able to respond to simple commands and knows where and who he is. He is currently still in the CCU and has a long road to recovery ahead of him. We are praising Jesus for all of the big and little signs that he has had his hands on Skip throughout this entire process. We are also praising Jesus that Skip is ALIVE! If you know our Skip/Skipper/Papa you know he has a heart of gold. These next few months will be strenuous for this sweet family. All donations will be used towards medical/hospital bills and necessities throughout his road to recovery. If you are unable to donate at this time we are also asking that everyone lift Skip and the family up in your prayers. We are praying specifically for total healing and very little lasting side effects so that he can get back to being "Papa" as quickly as possible!
