Papa Fanya Honest Baruti Funeral Fund

Hello my name is Kenya Baruti and I am creating this fundraiser on behalf of my family for my dearest Dad Fanya Baruti (Darrell Vaughn Hughes). He recently passed away on March 1, 2022 leaving his family and loved ones utterly heartbroken but also forever grateful for the wonderful 62 years he got to grace us all with his bubbly personality. He loved his family more than life itself everything he did he did for his four beautiful children Kenya, Tosh, Kio’Lani and La’Kieya we were his absolute world and soooo much more. He was a man of Faith, he loved GOD and knew the Word like the back of his hand. He was a man of prayer and love. He was a beautiful, kind black man who was always willing to help anyone and everyone.

Unfortunately my Dad did not have a life insurance policy, as we are greatly mourning the loss of our dear Father, we are also burdened with the unfortunate reality that this is a very costly expense. We would love more than anything to be able to send off our Dad with a proper funeral and burial so he can Rest In Peace. Please family and friends and all those who knew and loved my Dad whatever you can contribute would be greatly appreciated and very helpful, every donation counts. Thank you all for the continued prayers for strength, peace and comfort during this unimaginable time.

Everyone who had the pleasure of meeting and knowing my Dad knew that he was a character. He was the life of any party. He was full of love and laughter. He loved to sing, make silly faces, and funny voices and just be around his children. We were definitely our Dads pride and joy and whoever would be there to listen he would be there to tell you all about all the things his children were doing and how proud of us he was.

Since I was a little girl I knew my Dad as a gatherer he would do everything he could to keep our family together and bring us together for family functions and he never ever stopped no matter how old we got and how distant we all grew from one another. He was always there as the glue that held our family together. My Dad was such an amazing human being and I cannot believe he is gone.

My heart breaks writing this and every time the realization floods in. My Dad had many talents and ambitions in life. He loved to write and he was incredible at it with the most beautiful penmanship that I always admired and wished I could match. My Dad was the greatest Dad ever and I know that he is up in Heaven cheering his children on to keep going. Dad I can still hear your voice, anyone who knew you knew how distinctive your voice was. I thought for sure you would become famous just from your beautiful voice alone, as a voice actor or host of some game show.

This is such a great loss for our family, and for the Long Beach community, my Dad was born and raised in the LBC and he loved that city and all of the beautiful people in it.

Hug your loved ones a little tighter and don’t ever forget to tell them how much they mean to you and how much you love them because our life is but a vapor, here one day and gone the next.

Dad you will forever remain in our hearts and we will forever keep your memory alive with all of the beautiful moments we got to have you on this earth. Sending all of my love to you up in Heaven! I know we have gained one of the greatest guardian Angels we will ever have in this life. Love you always and forever Dad. Thank you for loving us unconditionally, we will never ever forget you dearest Dad. Until we meet again Dad!
