Paola Asylum Fund

Hi, we are currently seeking donations to help Paola, a trans woman from Honduras, stabilize her life after having to flee her home country due to violence and discrimination.

We, a Dutch human rights foundation, met Paola while we were shooting our film m/f/x in 2019 in Honduras. She suffered horrific violence in her life and inspired us because despite having suffered terribly she was still able to remain cheerful, strong and determined to make the most out of her life.

With the help of several NGOs, she managed to flee the violence in Honduras and arrived in Madrid. In Paola's first weeks, we reached out for emergency support and thankfully so many of you helped out, allowing her to secure accommodations to stay. She has since received asylum status, and we are now reaching out to the community to help Paola permanently rebuild her life.

Paola is grateful for her second chance and continuously works towards her goals of getting a formal education and becoming a hairdresser. We are looking to aid her with donations through GoFundMe to allow Paola to fund her studies and find work, while finally being able to live her own life in Spain. All help, financial or otherwise, is welcomed to support Paola's journey.
