"Panino for Pino" giving season fundraiser

Nick Householder is organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Salumeria Verdi (Pino's Sandwiches) and for the natives of Florence, Italy.

As many know, due to COVID-19, small businesses around the world are suffering. Pino's Sandwiches is no exception. This was a popular hotspot for American students and Florence locals alike, to gather and converse by way of the exceptionally friendly atmosphere that Pino and his staff created at this location. With so few of his American student friends in Florence to drop by to grab one of his famous sandwiches, Pino and his family are facing some tough times. In an effort to support him and his family, and to demonstrate the way that American students care deeply for the communities abroad, fellow Kent State University students and I have put together this virtual panino fundraiser.

In an effort to support him and his family, and to demonstrate the way that American students care deeply for the communities abroad, I have put together this virtual panino fundraiser. Since Thanksgiving and Christmas is upon us, this fundraiser will be held during this "season of giving", so to speak.

Pino and his family, in turn, have agreed to use the funds they receive to donate to various charitable organizations in Florence that supports families who simply cannot afford food. This means the money WE can help raise will not only benefit the business of Pino’s Sandwiches but also the good people of Florence, as this selfless deed will go a long way in helping those in need. This noble gesture illustrates the genuine care Pino, and his staff, has for their fellow citizens.

This student-led fundraiser, “Panino for Pino”, will be asking you to donate any amounts of your choosing, to help the good people of Florence.

On that note I leave with one of my favorite quotes by the famous Italian author Dante Alighieri: “Noi non potemo avere perfetta vita senza amici” (We cannot have a perfect life without friends).
