Help Pandemic Kitchen feed homeless

When everyone started staying inside because of covid-19 I saw and heard a desperation in the pleas from the hardcore street homeless. These are the people who normally scavenge for food in garbage cans and sheepishly panhandle for donations on sidewalks and in subway stations. Most are afflicted with mental illness and/or addictions that makes it impossible for them to get to existing food outreach locations on a regular basis. I started with a simple plan to cook meals out of a friend's restaurant and deliver them with a bicycle and a trailer wherever I found these people on the streets. I quickly learned there were many more people in need on the street than I alone could cook for. I now have several restaurants throughout the city that cook the food for me and I continue to cook one day a week from a friend's restaurant. I distribute the hot meals and water in different neighborhoods several days a week. Since I started my first meal delivery on April 23rd, I have handed out 6,300 hot meals with donations from friends and family and my personal savings. It's getting difficult to raise money from people who have been giving so much for so long but the need on the street is increasing. Initially I thought I'd be doing this for six weeks maximum to fill a gap in service. Existing resources are for will go a long way. It will provide10,000 meals to the street homeless, add an additional neighborhood to my service area, and prolong my project by four weeks.
