In March of 2010, I was diagnosed with Neuroendocrine Pancreatic Cancer which had metastasized to my Liver Stage 4.
My name is Linda Evans and I am raising money in order to defer a portion of the costs associated with my cancer treatment.
I was diagnosed with this deadly disease around the same time as Steve Jobs who fought a brave battle. I, like Steve Jobs was given a few months to live but God! Since my diagnosis, I have had a major surgery, am a Insulin dependant Type I diabetic as a result of the surgery, undergone numerous treatments including: Radiation, Y-90, Chemotherapy, Chemoemobolization, and Octreotide Theapy.
I now have the opportunity to receive a cutting edge treatment called Peptide Receptor Radionuclide Therapy (PRRT) aka LU-177 which is only available in Sweden and Houston, Texas.
I am raising this money for treatment expenses, travel expenses, and housing while I am in Houston. I have undergone two treatments in Houston already with favorable results but I still have two treatments to go. With each treatment my tumors are shrinking and there is no evidence of any new growth. My next treatment is scheduled for November 30, 2016. My last treatment will be in January 2017. I need to raise money for my November treatment first and then my January treatment.
This donation will mean the world to me and my family and take some of the financial strain off of my husband who, since I was diagnosed and undergone treatment, has sacrificed himself in works and deeds and has been my rock!
When people see me they cant believe that I have cancer. When I talk to people they always ask me to share my story of how I am able to survive, how come I have such a positive outlook on life, and how I can be so brave facing the fight I'm in. I tell everyone that I have truly been blessed with the best support team ever known. I am surrounded by like-minded people that always encourage me and believe in the almighty power of prayer. We are keeping our necks craned with expectation on what glorious deed God will do in my life next. I am anointed in the hope and have faith that His promises are being manifested right before our eyes.
It is difficult to magine what a person goes through when faced with life or death decisions on a continuous basis for 7 years. It has a way of humbling you and revealing what is really important in life; God, family, friends, and your health. I do know that God is a healer and he proves it everyday.
Although this fight has definitely been the biggest challenge of my life, I am so very thankful that I have the support of people like you. It means the world to me to know that people really care and that He has used me as an example!
By the grace of God, I bear witness to being a living testimony, and that if you believe in his promises you know they are not in vain. If he does it for me he will certainly do it for you and for that I am truly thankful!
