I have been approached by many charities to assist their campaigns with making reusable breastfeeding and menstrual pads for those who are living on or below the poverty line both overseas and here in Australia.
I have just sent 100 to Africa with Australian doctors for Africa. My focus for the next 12 months is getting the pads to people who need them here in Australia.
I have been lucky enough to have received a massive amount of donated items, however, these are now running out and I will have to buy more.
It goes without saying that it all comes at a cost so I need your help to continue doing this.
With the drought affecting so many people here in Australia, I am hoping to make 1000 pads in the next 12 months to send out to communities who need it the most. Our farmers are our mothers, sisters, nieces, cousins and friends. And as we all know,the disposable types of these items come at a cost and also go into landfill.
The pads I make will last for years and dramatically reduce landfill. We are all looking for ways to be able to help our farmers as they try to endure this heart-breaking drought.
These breastfeeding and menstrual pads won’t bring rain but it will keep a little bit more of that hard earned cash in the pockets of the families who need it the most.
I can’t do it on my own so I’m appealing to you to help me help them. I’ll do all the hard work,I just need your money! All funds raised will go towards purchasing fabrics and materials to make pads and deliver them to those in need. Give big or give small but remember; our farmers are giving us their all!
