The mission of Packing It Out is to:
Inspire a greater sense of environmental stewardship within the community by raising awareness for litter conditions along America’s trails.
SUCCESS! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Packing It Out on the Appalachian Trail was a success. We were able to remove over 1,000 pounds of trash from the trail. This initiative would not have succeeded without the generosity of friends and family supporting us here. You all donated $3,000 dollars!! We are extremely humbled and gratefull for all of your help. We can't thank everyone enough.
Success AGAIN!! WOW! 2016 was incredibly challenging and rewarding. Paul and I hiked the entire length of the Pacific Crest Trail ( 2,650 miles ) and removed over 720 pounds of trash. Most importantly, we inspired a higher level of environmental stewardship in all those we met along the way!
Whats next!?
With the success of Packing It Out on the Appalachian Trail during the summer of 2015 and the Pacific Crest Trail during the summer 2016. This year is going to be something different! We will be attempting to clean some of the those areas closer to home that are being loved to death.
The plan is to bike tour from Cumberland Island in Georgia to the Pacific Ocean in Washington. This will be a 5,300 mile clean up effort.
All donations will be used to further Packing It Out's mission. These funds will literally help fuel Packing It Out. Food will be our greatest cost while on the trail along side other in-town cost.
...But really we would prefer that you to take your money and use it to fuel your own clean-up efforts. If you are not in a position to get out and clean trails, we will serve as your vehicle to make a positive change in the outdoors.
