Sometimes, life takes a radically different turn than expected. All the dreams and goals you set for yourself as a child fall out of sight, when the struggle to live is all you can see in your near future.
Last month at the age of 21 years, my cousin Iliana Perez was diagnosed with brain cancer. A young mother with a husband and a 3yr old son, Iliana should be living and creating wonderful moments. Instead, she is about to embark on a journey away from home in Tampico, Mexico for radiation treatment in hospitals in Mexico City.
Iliana and her mother will be in Mexico City for a minimum of two months. They know no one in the city. With all their time and energy devoted to fighting the cancer, they will not have any income coming in for the time being – aside from savings – to live on.
Their focus should be solely on beating Iliana’s cancer, and not the burden of how they will they survive financially during this period.
I am asking that you please take a moment to donate, or at least, say a prayer for Iliana. It’s an arduous path ahead, but support in all forms – no matter how great or small – help tremendously.
Iliana is young, strong of mind, will and body. Cancer picked the wrong host body this time. She will prove that.
Thank you in advance for your contributions.
Sincerely,
