Gratitude on the Pacific Crest Trail

As many of you know we recently lost our mom after a tough battle with cancer. Our youngest brother Patrick spent the last 18 months as her full-time caregiver. We can’t express in words the gratitude we have for the time, energy, patience and emotion Patrick put into being Mom’s caregiver, medical liaison, insurance negotiator and family PR guy. It was the ultimate act of selflessness, and we’re so proud of him for having the strength to be there for Mom every single day.

Patrick has decided to embark on a new journey to decompress after an intense 18 months. He will be hiking the 2,653 mile Pacific Crest Trail which runs from the California/Mexico border, along the Cascade and Sierra Nevada mountain ranges, up to British Columbia. The route passes through 25 national forests and 7 national parks, and usually takes 5-6 months to complete.

A number of friends have asked if there is some way they can help or pay tribute to our mom. We can’t think of a better way than to support Patrick on his journey across the Pacific Crest Trail.
