Help fund an art project for our heroes.
They are our unsung heroes.
We are at an unprecedented time in history.
Bearing witness to this pandemic first hand, are our front line healthcare workers.
During this time of isolation, I have been filled with a need to make meaningful artwork.
It started with a portrait of my cousin who is a doctor that treats COVID patients. Like her, so many thousands of doctors and nurses work grueling shifts and save so many lives.
This body of work made of watercolor portraits is continuing to grow. I paint two everyday. With 45 portraits finished to date, I have 47 more to go.
Nurses and doctors are saying that it boosts their morale to see these portraits.
The series of local doctors from Virginia Mason will be completed this week. Look for my progress and updates on Instagram @jayashreeart
Next up is a series of watercolors covering a unitof 36 nurses at Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Center City, Philadelphia.
I am now committed to making as many as I can and display them soon.
In my humble opinion, when you make someone feel “seen”, it can have a profound effect on their well being. I sincerely hope to achieve that with my work.
The funds will go towards art supplies, display materials and shipping of these paintings.
