Help us pay for our daughter’s medical care
Hi, I am Mathew Wojcik and my wife is Ginny Marceau. As many of you know, we found out at our 20 week ultrasound that our daughter’s heart did not fully develop.
She was diagnosed with a condition called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS).
We are scheduled to deliver out daughter (Samantha) on Monday, October 3rd. And within a few hours of delivery, she will be taken to UPMC Children’s hospital and admitted to the NICU there.
She will require the first of 3 open heart surgeries within the first week of her life. She will stay at UPMC Children’s hospital while she recovers and will have her second open heart surgery at around 2 1/2 months old. After which, she will finally be able to come home.
Because of these surgeries, I will have to take off a significant amount of unpaid time from work, and when I am back at work, I will be driving about 45 miles each way every weekend to be with my newborn daughter and wife in the NICU.
Due to the stress on our finances that this time off and gas money is going to cause, we have decided to do something that makes us incredibly uncomfortable, which is ask for money. Any money you donate will be to make up for lost work and allow us to pay our bills, rent, car payments, gas, etc.
And we especially just ask that you keep us and our daughters in your prayers as we embark on the difficult road ahead.
