Our Angel's Fund
Issayas Hagos was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, friend and community member. He was born in Eritrea on July 16, 1978. He served in the Eritrean National Service and attended Aksum University for mechanical engineering. Eventually he came to the United States and settled in Michigan with his family. They have lived in Richmond for the last year.
Issayas was the optimist you always wanted to ask for advice; his grin was contagious. He was a kindhearted, generous and humble man. Issayas was diagnosed with (myeloid sarcoma eosinophilic) leukemia nine months ago. One of the rarest and most aggressive forms of cancer. The medical team did everything they could to battle the cancer but unfortunately his body refused the chemo and everything they tried. He is survived by his son Eyoel (11 years old), his daughter Silvana (17 years old) and his wife Betty. Betty left work to take care of him full time. Issayas passed away on September 11, 2019. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
As Issayas’s family picks up the pieces they will need to pay for funeral expenses and medical bills. They will need some time to get their feet under them. We are humbly asking for all of us to come together so we can help his wife Betty and son Eyoel as they find their way through this transition. Every prayer, every kind word, and every penny are appreciated. Thank you.
