a feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests and goals
The objective of any neighborhood is to form a community. A community of shared values, common attitudes and interests. These interests are often founded on raising families, earning living wages or better and enjoying the unique cultures of our neighbors in one place.
The concept for this Eagle Scout Project is derived from community ovens that arose in the upper Midwest a few years ago and were created as a place for people to come together and break bread. Sharing in the bounty that they have and the culture that they bring, the food from the oven was wide and varied and neighbors became friends and a community with an identity. The community kitchen is dedicated to building community in our neighborhood across racial and ethnic divides incomes and backgrounds. Together we can break bread and form a better community that represents our communal interests of raising families in peace and prosperity.
