Oskars 106km Isle of Wight UltraMarathon
Tax deductible
In July 2021 I am running a lap of the Isle of Wight (106km or 62mi) and will be raising money along the way for the Legacy of War foundation. https://ultrachallenge.com/isle-of-wight-challenge/
I love to push my body to the limits and set myself challenges so what better than to go for a little 62mi run.
Legacy of War foundation is a charity set up by my Uncle Giles Duley. He is a war photographer and travels all over the world to war torn countries such as Afghanistan, Sudan and Angola to document the stories of the forgotten and marginalised.
In 2011, while on patrol with the 75th Cavalry Regiment, United States Army in Afghanistan, Giles stepped on an improvised explosive device (IED). He was severely injured, losing both legs and an arm. In the aftermath of that horrific event, Giles created the Legacy of War Foundation to tell the unheard stories of families and communities caught in war and grappling with economic hardship.
You can find more information about the amazing work they do at https://www.legacyofwarfoundation.com.
I would appreciate any donations and will be sure to document not only my training and race for people to follow but also where the money raised will be used.
Thank you all, love Oskar x
