Oscar's kids education fund

Donation protected
A few short days ago, we lost our beloved friend, son, and father, Oscar Diaz-Horta. Oscar left a major impact in the life of anyone who met him with his jovial, witty and caring ways. He loved his family, his parents and sister, although separated by distance, but he kept them close in his heart. He found his second home, a place of solace and comfort, in Miami with his partner Alexandra and his children, Sabrina (5 years old) and Anthony (3 years old).

Oscar was a passionate and accomplished scientist who made major contributions in medical research. Growing up in Cuba, he excelled academically and obtained his Ph.D from University of Havana, where he later established himself as an independent researcher on diabetes. The quest of knowledge drove him abroad to join institutes in Brussels and Rome as postdoctoral fellow. In 2012, he moved to the United States to become a scientist at the University of Miami’s School of Medicine. At this time, his research was focused on human genetics and hearing loss. Along his career, he published more than 40 peer-reviewed research articles.

The untimely passing of Oscar has left all that knew him with sadness and heavy hearts. To show our support for his family and for the love of his life, his two young children, please donate to contribute towards their future education.
